Course Overview:
You do not need to have any non-linear editing experience or any familiarity with using Adobe Premiere Pro for this class. Learn how to use Premiere Pro, one of the world’s most popular and robust non-linear editing (NLE) systems, in a forensic media environment.
Premiere Pro is not only used as a tool in forensic media processing but also for creative case derivatives and demonstrative samples within ongoing investigations or courtroom proceedings.
Through participatory practice and case-based learning, you will solidify and retain in-depth knowledge of the software’s core features, allowing you to feel comfortable and confident in adding Adobe Premiere Pro into your daily workflow.
By the end of the course, you will have a fundamental foundation in video editing and will be equipped to create basic video content with confidence and skill.
Class begins each day at 8 AM. On Friday, class will be dismissed by 4:30 PM.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Students must bring their own provide laptops for use in class containing the needed software. Downloadable demo versions are available. Click on the link below for complete details.

Strongly encourage registering as soon as possible by July 5, 2024. Class size is limited. LEVA courses sell out before the registration cutoff date.
INSTRUCTOR:
Angela Ellis is a LEVA certified Forensic Video Technician working towards Analyst certification. She’s is with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office as a Media Forensic Specialist where she provides complex geospatial visual investigations for the agency’s Investigative Operations Bureau using Premiere Pro. For the 17 years prior to her role in law enforcement, Angela has been a documentary film editor, a VFX editor, a national broadcast commercial editor and an editor and creative director for media content within science, medical and government industries.
Who Can Apply?
1) Employees of any international, federal, state/provincial, or local public safety agency and educational institutions, may apply. An applicant for educational pricing should be either a person who is a full-time instructor at a nationally accredited educational facility or is a full-time student.
2) A select number of seats are available to the private sector (for-profit businesses).
LEVA Membership: LEVA membership is not required to attend.
Certificate: LEVA will also issue a certificate to each student who attends the course.
Successful completion of this course earns credit hours toward LEVA’s Forensic Video Analyst and Technician certification renewals.
Travel & Accommodation: Students are responsible for securing their own lodging and all ground transportation.
Meals: All meals are the responsibility of the student.
Tuition: $1,875. Unless otherwise arranged with LEVA, students accepted to attend must pay the course fee by July 12, 2024. Payment options are credit card or check.
