Adobe Photoshop for Forensic Video Analysts
This four-day workshop is limited to a maximum of 24 students. The course begins with an introduction to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge, developing best practices and then using this tool in a Forensic Video Analysis workflow including initial analysis, clarification, on-screen comparison techniques, and creating demonstrative evidence exhibits. Exercises will include working with still images and working directly with video files with Adobe Photoshop.
Throughout the entire workshop, recommended best practices will be used with non-destructive processes employed whenever possible.
Students must provide their own laptop. If it doesn’t already have Adobe Photoshop or Bridge, the demos versions can be downloaded on day one of class.
The course will be held at the SpringHill Suites hotel, 7872 Edinger Ave.,Huntington Beach, CA 92647.
George Reis provides training and consulting services in forensic photography, photographic and video analysis through his company, Imaging Forensics. He worked for the Newport Beach Police Department from 1989 through 2004 as a Forensic Photographer and Crime Scene Investigator, and introduced that agency to digital imaging in 1992. He is an established author and globally recognized expert on Photoshop. George is certified in Forensic Video Analysis through LEVA, is a member of the certification committee in Forensic Photography and Imaging with the IAI, and is on the editorial review board for the Journal of Forensic Identification.
Who Can Apply?
- Employees of all police forces and other government agencies involved in the acquisition and/or processing of video evidence.
- A select number of seats are available to the private sector.
With the exception of those applicants who supply video analysis services or CCTV equipment, other private sector applicants whose responsibilities include the development, sales or marketing of products or services to law enforcement will not be considered.
LEVA Membership: LEVA Membership is not required to attend.

Unless otherwise arranged with LEVA, students accepted to attend must pay the course fee by February 8, 2019. Do not send the course fee with the application. Only when registration is confirmed via email to the student should payment be processed.
Payment options are credit card, check and wire transfer.
With the exception of war, government regulation, disaster, strikes or exigent circumstances, a refund will be approved minus a $25 service charge. As an alternative, a student who must cancel may apply the full amount as a credit to a future LEVA class. Credit from a class cannot be applied for the annual training symposium registration.
Credits and Certificate
LEVA will issue a certificate to each student.
Successful completion of this course results in 32 hours credit under the Image/Video Training requirement toward LEVA’s Forensic Video Analyst and Technician certifications and renewals.
Travel & Accommodation
Students are responsible for securing their own lodging (if necessary) and all ground transportation.

All meals are the responsibility of the student.
Graduates of the course receive a LEVA certificate indicating successful completion of the 32-hour curriculum. That certificate should NOT be interpreted as a certification of any type. The graduate must refer to this training as LEVA's on their resume, CV or any discoverable document. This class is not conducted to officially endorse any product or service.
