Forensic Imaging Techniques
This workshop will introduce the user to the key features of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge for use in forensic video analysis and utilize features for image correction including tools from third-party plug-in applications. Instruction and hands-on practice will include topics on file formats, best practices, setting up an efficient workflow, correcting pixel aspect ratio, de-interlace options, making basic image adjustments, noise reduction, image sharpening, working directly with video in Photoshop and preparing images to print.
Instructor: George Reis provides training and consulting services in photography, image analysis and digital imaging through his company, Imaging Forensics. He worked for the Newport Beach Police Department from 1989 through May, 2004 as a Forensic Photographer and Crime Scene Investigator, and introduced that agency to digital imaging in 1992. Prior to working in law enforcement, George was a photojournalist and freelance photographer and worked in a commercial photo lab. He is an established author and globally recognized expert on Photoshop.
Course Location: Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center (ACTIC) located at 16212 N 28th Ave Phoenix, Arizona 85053.
Students will need to bring their official Department / Company ID and check in with security to obtain a day pass to enter the building.

Who Can Apply?
LEVA Membership is not required to attend.
- Employees of any international, federal, state/provincial, or local public safety agency including the Dept. of Defense, Dept. of Homeland Security and educational institutions, may apply.
- A select number of seats are available to the private sector (for-profit businesses).
With the exception of those applicants who supply video analysis services or CCTV equipment, other private sector applicants whose responsibilities include the development, sales or marketing will not be considered.
Credits and Certificate
LEVA will issue a certificate to each student who passes the course.
Successful completion of this course results in 32 hours towards LEVA’s Forensic Video Analyst certification and renewal of Technician certification.
Travel & Accommodation
Students are responsible for securing their own lodging and all ground transportation to / from the airport and between the hotel and class each day.
Class begins each day at 8:00 A.M. The course will end by 3:30 P.M. on that Thursday. Students should avoid scheduling a flight out Thursday evening before 6:00 P.M.

Unless otherwise arranged with LEVA, students accepted to attend must pay the course fee by January 19, 2018. You can pay on-line when registering. Other payment options are check, wire transfer and credit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express only).
With the exception of war, government regulation, disaster, strikes or exigent circumstances, a refund will be approved minus a $25 service charge. As an alternative, a student who must cancel may apply the full amount as a credit to a future LEVA class. Credit from a class cannot be applied for the annual training symposium registration.
Graduates of the course receive a LEVA certificate indicating successful completion of the 32-hour curriculum. That certificate should NOT be interpreted as a certification of any type. The disclaimer and student’s signature on the course application further indicate they fully understand they are not receiving any certification from this course and must refer to this training as LEVA's on their resume, CV or any discoverable document. This class is not conducted to officially endorse any product or service.
