SUMMARY:Photoshop for Forensic Video Analysis
DESCRIPTION:January 6-9\, 2025: Online\nLEVA membership is not required to attend.\nCourse Overview:\nThis four-day online workshop is limited to a maximum of 20 students. The course begins with an introduction to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge\, developing best practices\, and then using this tool in a Forensic Video Analysis workflow including initial analysis\, clarification\, on-screen comparison techniques\, and creating demonstrative evidence exhibits. Exercises will include working with still images and working directly with video files with Adobe Photoshop. \nThroughout the entire workshop\, recommended best practices will be used and non-destructive processes employed whenever possible. \nREQUIRED: \nA laptop where you have rights to install software. Complimentary demo software will be available to install unless you already have Photoshop and Adobe Bridge loaded. \nSTART TIME: \nThe class begins promptly each day at 0700 Pacific Time (-8 UTC) to accommodate those in other time zones. \nInstructor: \nGeorge Reis provides training and consulting services in forensic photography\, photographic and video analysis through his company\, Imaging Forensics. He worked for the Newport Beach Police Department from 1989 through 2004 as a Forensic Photographer and Crime Scene Investigator\, and introduced that agency to digital imaging in 1992. He is an established author and globally recognized expert on Photoshop. George is certified in Forensic Video Analysis through LEVA\, is a member of the certification committee in Forensic Photography and Imaging with the IAI\, and is on the editorial review board for the Journal of Forensic Identification. \nTuition: \n$1\,500 must be paid by December 15\, 2024 unless prior agreement made with LEVA. \nCredits and Certificate: \nLEVA will issue a certificate to each student. \nSuccessful completion of this course results in 32 hours credit under the Image/Video Training requirement toward LEVA’s Forensic Video Analyst and Technician certifications and renewals. \nTUITION PAYMENT / REFUND POLICY \nRegistration\nDisclaimer:\nGraduates of the course receive a LEVA certificate indicating successful completion of the 32-hour curriculum. That certificate should NOT be interpreted as a certification of any type.
