Intro to Best Practices for Recovery of Digital Video: Franklin, Massachusetts

Course Overview:

This two-day in-person class is for those needing to gain a basic understanding of digital and cloud-based recording systems. It’s for those in law enforcement / government agencies, corporate or private sector who are likely to encounter this type of evidence. This training provides skills to recover the video in a sound manner and make use of the video recovered. The class will also highlight concerns in digital video, sources of information/knowledge, and further training.

Location: New England State Police Information Network (NESPIN), 124 Grove St. #105, Franklin, MA

Instructors: Detective Dean Brown and Detective M.T. Brown

LAB SYSTEMS: LEVA provides laptops with all needed software for use in class.

Who Should Apply?

    • Employees of any international, federal, state/provincial, or local public safety agency including the Dept. of Defense, Dept. of Homeland Security and educational institutions, may apply.  Especially those with little to no experience with video but who could expect to interact with it as part of their job.

LEVA Membership:   LEVA membership is not required to attend.

Credits and Certificate: LEVA will also issue a certificate to each student who passes the course.  Those needing hours towards LEVA certification renewal earn 16 hours.

Travel & Accommodation:  Students are responsible for securing their own lodging and all ground transportation to / from the airport and between the hotel and class each day.

MEALS:  All meals are the responsibility of the student.

PARKING:  Free at training site.

TUITION:  $750 per student. Due NLT November 15, 2024.  (Discounts are available for agencies requesting five or more seats)

NOTE:  Registering only serves as a placeholder. Tuition payment secures the seat.

Unless otherwise arranged with LEVA, students accepted to attend must pay the course fee by November 15, 2024. You can pay on-line when registering. Other payment options are check, wire transfer and credit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express only).

REFUND POLICY:

With the exception of war, government regulation, disaster, strikes or exigent circumstances, a refund will be approved minus a $25 service charge. As an alternative, a student who must cancel may apply the full amount as a credit to a future LEVA class. Credit from a class cannot be applied for the annual symposium registration.
